Install the client

WINDOWSMACOSLINUXANDROID / iOS
1

Download the installer

Go to teamspeak.com/downloads and grab the TeamSpeak 3 Client for your operating system. On mobile, search "TeamSpeak 3" in the App Store or Google Play instead.

2

Run the installer

Windows: launch the .exe and click through the setup wizard, keeping the default install location. macOS: open the .dmg and drag TeamSpeak into Applications. Linux: extract the .run file and execute it from a terminal.

3

Accept the license and launch

Accept the license agreement when prompted, then open TeamSpeak 3. On first launch it may offer a license/donation screen — choose the free non-commercial license to continue.

4

Set up your audio

TeamSpeak will run a quick wizard to test your microphone and speakers. Pick your input/output devices and confirm the levels look right — you can always redo this later under Settings → Options → Capture.

Connect to the KDPWUG server

1

Open the connect window

In the client, go to Connections → Connect, or use the shortcut Ctrl + S (Windows/Linux) or Cmd + S (macOS).

2

Enter the server details

Fill in the connect dialog with the address below. Leave the server password field blank unless KDPWUG has given you one separately.

Server Address www.kdpwug.za.net
Nickname your in-game / community name
Server Password leave blank (unless provided)

If you're asked for a port separately, the default TeamSpeak port is 9987 — you only need to add :9987 to the address if a plain connection attempt fails.

3

Click Connect

Hit Connect. You should land in the server's default channel within a second or two. If a "server identity" prompt appears, just accept the default and continue.

4

Save it for next time

Tick Add to bookmarks in the connect dialog before clicking connect, so future visits are one click away from Bookmarks in the top menu.

Not connecting? Double-check there's no typo in the address, confirm your internet connection is up, and make sure your firewall isn't blocking TeamSpeak. If it still fails, the server may be temporarily offline — reach out to a KDPWUG admin to check.
